Abstract

The Purpose of collegiate nursing education is to cultivate professional nurse with adequate capabilities and this requires not only specialized knowledge but broad general knowledge,
.-Competent. technical ability and qualities of leadership. In order to know if these qualifications are being met it is necessary to evaluate the formation and management of the curriculum.
Since the purpose of this particular study was to obtain fundamental data that would help to promoto and develop process of collegiate nursing education in Korea, the various applicable principles needed to formulate adequate curriculum were reviewed in various documentary research articles related to the educational process. It was confirmed, however, that it is necessary to use the scientific method rather than traditional patterns or subjective ideas in order to obtain fresh concepts in relation to the development of the educational process, the changes in educational philosophy, the nature of nursing
the social responsibilities of collegiate nursing education, the concern for ind
vidual student needs, the educational methods and educational evaluation. In order to grasp the general educational practices of collegiate nursing in our universities, information was collected through various methods such as school
catalogues, questionaires and interviewsFirst of all, questionaires were sent to professors of nursing, in each university with a nursing department. Then questionnaires were sent to student nurses in these schools, in these scho
ols, in the sophomore, junior and senior years, since they had already had
considerable experience in the clinical practice of nursing.
Thirty questionaires for professors and 267 questionaires for students were sent respectively on November
18, and on December 4, 1965, 25 of the professor´s questionnaires were returned and 244 of the student´s questionires were duly received.
As a result of analizing the data collected, it was found that, most students chose to major in nursing because they felt it might be useful and necessary to their future home life (50.9 %) ; they wanted to have an opportunity to study humanities as electives (89.8 %), and the main problems which student nurses encountered appeared to be difficulties in relation to their interpersonal relationships (42.7 %). And
also they agreed to an extent that their
clinical experience should be supervised . by professors of nursing. As a matter of fact, it was the prevailing opinion, that the professors´ inadequate clinical supervision was mainly attributed to the professor´s exce ss workload consis
ting of lectures, and other duties.
Professors and they also recognized that appraisment of clinical experiences of students are often found to be biased.
In view of the findings of this stud regarding the educational process and its principles of formation above, a few suggestions have been made regarding the development of the curricuim or Korean nursing education.

Fourty cases of dyspneic patients `Chiefly from cardiac origin, were studied for the purpose of tests df relieability from the distress by positional changes of the patient using hospital bed.
Followings were the results.
1) Respiration and pulse rate were proportionately reduced according to the gradual inclination of the bed.
And their reduction rates were almost pararelled with severity of the sufferings.
2) The inclination of the bed giving
more comfortable position in these patients were proportionately increased
