Abstract

The audiological study was done on twenty-five subjects who were hit their ears by hands (male 19, female 6). Those were divided into following four groups
A Group (8 cases) Those who came to, the clinic in 24 hours-after the trauma, with raptured ear drums.
B Group (8 , cases) Those who came to the clinic in l week after the trauma, with ruptured ear drums
C Group (6 cases) Those who came to the clinic in between 1 week to 4 weeks after the trauma with ruptured ear drums.
D Group (3cases) Those who came to the` clinic in various times after the trauma, without ruptured rear drums.
1. There were no significant characters in the audiograms to be specific in those traumatic cases but could found C5 dip formation in 12 cases (48 0%). This was more prominent in D group whose drums´ were intact.
2.More than half cases (14 cases, 56. 0 % ) showed, perceptive type deafness, Five -cases (20. 0 %) were mixed type, and six- cases were conductive type,
3.Generally, the degree of hearing impairments seemed to be better in B group than in A group, then again worse in C group.
4 No significant relations were found between the sites or sizes of the drum perforations and the degree of deafness.
5 Tinnitus was found in 18 cases (72 0 %) but it seemed that there were no direct relations between thee degree of hearing impairments and the occurrences of the tinnitus.
