Abstract
From January 1957 to December 1962. 40 cases of lupus erythematosus; chronic discoid type 36 cases and systemic type 4 cases, were observed in Severance Hospital of Yonsei University.
Following facts are significance:
1) In the incidence of sex, female was two times more frequent than male in chronic discoid type, and three times in systemic type.
2) In chronic discoid type, there showed abnormal laboratory finding; 3 cases of S.T.S. false positive, 1 case of Coomb´s test positive, but no positive L.E. cell test. Those cases show usually leucopenia and/or anemia.
3) In treatment, the corticosteroid was more effective than antimalarials (Aralen). The corticosteroid is administrated internally and/or intralesionally.
