Abstract


The effect of stimulation of the reticuloendothelial system with tubercle bacilli of the strain BCG on the gro~vh of tumors has been studied extensively by many worker´s since late 1950´s and its has been well recognized that the nonespecific immunotheraliy to the malignant cancer with BCG and its extractions was efficient method in the clinical oncology. However, inflammatory process and delayed cutaneous sensitivity reactions after inoculation of BCG or BCG extractions were still annoying side effects to be excluded. In 1974, Chung extracted a tuberculo-protein complex, tubercin-3, from virulent human type of tubercle bacilli and applied the material to the 30 cases of. various cancer paitents with improvement of clinical signs for about 50~ of the cases without noticea.bles side effects.
This studies were carried out to determine the pattern of circulatory clearance of tubercin-3 and:; its organ distribution after intravenous administration with following results:
1. A tuberculo-protein complex, tubercin-3, could easily labelled with iaiI by the method ofd McConahey in the pH 9.0.
2. 13´I-tubercin-3 showed rapid circulatory clearance curve after intravenous administration; about 60;0 of injected 131I-tubercin-3 was disappeared within i0 minutes and 5jo was remained at 24 hours after injection. No significant differences were naticed in the antigan clearance rate from the blood between control and steroid hormone treated animals.
3. The concentration of radioactivity per gram of tissue was highest in the kidney followed ink order by spleen, lung, liver, in control and 60mg/kg co:rtison treated animal. However, the lowestd a concentration v,-as observed the spleen of X20 mg/kg cor~:isane treated animal.
