Abstract
The author studied the ultrastructural changes of the rat hepatocytes in methoxyflurane anesthesia. Nice albino rats were anesthetized with methoxyflurane for 60 minitues. Each of three experimental animals were sacrificed immediately, four hours and twelve hours after anestbesia respectively and Iiver was extracted out.
The results were obtanined as follow,:
Immediately after methoxyflurane anesthesia, rough surfaced endoplasmic retielum showed fragmentation, dilatation, and detachment of ribosome. A considerable increase of smooth surfaced endoplasmic reticulum, slight marginal irregularity and disruption of cristae in mitochondria, decrease of glycogen particle and lipid droplet an atropby of Golgi complex were observed.
Four hours after methoxyflurance anesthesia, these changes were relatively milder, and recovered to the normal 12 hours group.
