Abstract
The serological survey for mumps hemagglutination-inhibiting antibody (H-1 test) was made for Korean from January to July 1970.
A total of 513 people has been examined (Seoul 302, Taechon 100, Chunju 111)
The results obtained were as follows;
1. Positive rate found to be 50.9%(261). The low titer specimens(1:10) constituted 17.6% whereas to high titer specimen (1:640) constituted only 0.6%.
2. No significant difference in positive rate by areas could be found as indicated by Seoul; 48.3%(302), Taechon; 53.0%(100), and Chunju; 55.9%(111) respectively.
3. As for the sexual difference, the males showed higher positive rate(56.6%) than the females (43.6%).
4. Serological survey for mumps hemagglutination-inhibiting antibody showed a significantly higher titer in the age group of 5-14 as compared with the age group of 1-4.
H-1 antibody titer was found to be relativelty low in the age group of 15-40 whereas the positive rate by age showed a irregular pattern.
