Abstract


The study designed to observe the influence of additional riboflavin to the rice on the riboflavin contents in the liver and serum.
This experiment was tried on the subjects of healthy pure female ALBINO rats weighing 102-176g.
They are fed on the rice diet or rice with riboflavin diet for the experiment period, respectively and riboflavin contents were determined in their liver and serum.
The obtained results are summarized as follows;
1. In the liver, riboflavin contents of the rice with riboflavin diet groups showed higher level, for those of the rice diet groups.
2. As to the riboflavin contents variation according to each feeding period, there was an increase in riboflavin contents of the 15-day rice diet group, compared with the 7-day rice diet group, while those of the 30-day rice diet group showed a decrease.
The diet groups with additional riboflavin´s showed the same tendency as the rice group.
3. The addition of riboflavin had little influence on the level of riboflavin.
4. There was a gain of weight for rats in the rice with riboflavin diet groups than in the rice diet groups.
