Abstract
Many field trials on the recent medical curriculum have been conducted by the concerned study groups. Its purpose was to develop new ideas and to applicate the undergraduate education to the practical field more efficiently. And few of medical schools already have started their change of the school-curriculum, especially in preventive medicine and public health.
I have studied on the 1970¢¥s preventive medicine and public health curriculum of medical colleges in Korea and the relative gravity of the hours for four years of the undergraduate medical curriculum.
And it revealed as follows:
1. Average 232.3 hours were allowed for public health and preventive medicine and its range were from 159.0-300.0 hours. And its gravity among total hours were 4.5%.
2. They delivered 58.3 hours in average for epidemiology and biostatistics part and its gravity was 25.2% among total preventive medicine and public health, 36.4 hours and 15.7% for for environmental sanitation, 23.0 hours and 10.0% for health care administration, 9.0 hours and 3.9% for maternal and child health and 89.0 hours and 38.3% for field and experimental practice.
3. Average ratio of lecture and practice were 100.0:63.6
