Abstract
The authors studied 11 cases of anesthesia for stab wound in the heart which were performed in the Busan national university hospital from 1973 to 1976. The results were as follows:
1. Male vs. female ratio was 9:2 and the second to third decade of age had the highest number in the age groups.
2. The causes of wounds were 9 cases by knife, one by traffic accident and one by explosion.
3. Fatal cases were 2 in 11 cases, one during operation due to cardiac arrest and the otehr, on the seventh postoperative day in the ward, due to asphyxia from bleeding of the tracheostomized wound.
