Abstract
The authors isolated a cellulolytic Streptomyces albus from soil and estimated of the
reducing sugars produced from the breakdown of filter paper treated with culture
filtrate.
After 24 hours, produced reducing sugar was 5μg/ml in concentration and its
production seemed to be stimulated by yeast extract enrichement in Dubos medium and
inhibited by the increment of alkalinity.
