Abstract


The nuclear volumes of the spinal, transitional,and spindle cells, in squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix, stained with hematoxylin and eosin were measured and compared with each other.
The nuclear volumes were calculated by Matthias, Lange¡Æand Hertl¢¥s formula, after the
longest and shortest diameters of the cells were measured with "Zeiss Winkel¢¥s Zeichnen . Apparatus attached to the microscope.
The results obtained are as follows:
1) Mean volume of spinal cells 310.30u3
2) Mean volume of transitional cells 159.27u3
3) Mean volume of spindle cells 51.62u3
