Abstract

In 1965 the collective review on stress urinary incontinence in the female was prepared by Allery. (1954) and Hodgkinson (11965). They summarized the cun¢¥en-t data or anatomy, physiology, and pathology, and commented upon the need for greater understanding of urethrovesical function upon which more rational therapy should be planned.
During the past twenty years, many ingenious procedures have teen devised to alleviate the distressing condition known as urinary stress- incontinence in the female. These have ranged, from non operative treatment (Kegel exercise or the simple vagina ) repair.
to the more complicated urethra sling and suspension operations all of which have their proponents. Most encouraging from review of the many publications have beern a clearly recognized trend toward an awareness of basic problems which have beset the diagnosis, the treatment and the cure.
To be presentation of the collective review on treatment for stress urinary incontinence at the Twentysixth, Convention of Korean Obstetrics & Gynecologists, the new and important information on the treatment for the urinary stress incontinence has been reviewed and discussed.
