Abstract


The authors presented 10 cases of the ruptured gravid uterus in the term pregnancy among the 431 cases of deliveries in Dae Jon area, Chung-Nam University Hospital for 19 months:
1)The incidence of uterine rupture was 0.4% among total cases of deliveries during
19 months from Jan. 1972 to July 1973 and it showed very high :incidence related. to the other reports:
2) The leading cause of .uterine rupture was spontaneous rupture of intact term graviduterus accounting for 60% the traumatic rupture by - miss-used oxytocinn and rupture of previous cesarean sectionn scar were 30% and 10% respectively;
3) All were represented multiparous gravida- over 31 years. of age as 8.01 and more five times deliveries as 40 % in their obstetric histpries.
4) The site of uterine rupture, all cases had been shown in the low segment of the uterus and complete .ruptured except one case of previous cesarean- scar rupture.It¢¥ s accident was happened in the course of the labors.
5) We had treated with total hysterectomy in 9 cases and subtotal hysterectomy one case. There was neither maternal death nor fetal survival.
6) The authors encountered the high incidence of uterine rupture in. Dae-Jon. area where the most of gravid women were not enough to take care of pre or postnatal period .and labor under, well facilitated. maternal floor. However, it¢¥ high risk would, be reduced and prevented after developing socioeconomic status and underr supervison by well trained medical man.
