Abstract
Two cases of subdural effusion, which developed during the recovery phase of purulent meningitis due to H.influenzae and meningococcus respectively, are reported.
As there has teen significant increasing tendency of the number of reported cases of subdural effusionas a complication of purulent meningitis since antibiotics have been introduced for the general clinical use, we have reviewed its frequency. etiology and suggestive clinical signs and symptoms. Furthermore, on the basis of our own experiences we have advocatedt hat the recurrence of fever during the appropriate specific antibiotic treatment should also be considered as an additional important suggestive symptom for Subdural effusion
