Abstract
Follow up observations with fiberscope were done on a case of early gastric cancer with ulceration, during the eleven weeks following the first examination.
The ulcer initially measuring about 1.5¡¿2.0 cm decreased markedly in it¢¥s size in eight weeks and disappeared in eleven weeks, leaving only small irregular superficial erosions. The lesion was slightly depressed with mild nodularity which represent so-called ¥±c. type of early cancer by Japanese classification.
This case is instructive in the sense that so-called therapeutic trial considered usefull for the differential diagnosis between benign and malignant ulcers should be re-evaluated at least in cases of early cancer.
