Abstract

Though various technics are employed to determine the Magnesium level, a limited.¢¥number of methods are applicable in Korea.
The study was done by means of fairly up-to-dated Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy technic comparing its data obtained by the conventional Titan Yellow dye method.
The comparison of two methods are hereby summarized as follows:
1. The data obtained from 116 samples by means of AAS methods were; Mean of 1.907 0.202 Standard and Coefficient Variation of 11%, while the data by Titan Yellow methods were : 1. 9080.235, and 12.3% respectively.
2. Correlation between the Titan Yellow and the AAS methods of 116 samples was 0.6, and the regression line showed as y=1.03 x=0.0018.
3. It could be concluded from the study that the Titan Yellow method still can be routinely employed, even though the AAS method is highly recommendable with its superiority-in reproducibility, specity and accuracy.
