Abstract


Delayed union and non-union of the long bane fractures were often confronted to the surgeon during fracture treatment. In this paper, 44 cases of delayed and non-union of the long bone ¢¥ fractures treated by Barrel Stave type cancellous bone grafting during period of July. 1963 to June, 1973 wen considered.
The results were summerized as follows:
1) Delayed and non-union~of the long bone fractures were most commonly occured in men age between 20 and 40
2) After. Barsel stave caocellous grafting with metalic fixation, average interval of graft healing. was 18 weeks. But withgut metalic fezation. 16 weeks was noted
3) After Barrel Stave caacellous grafting, 90% of the fractures were united within, 24 weeks.
4) We experienced 8~cases of postoperative complications (18%) in. which 2~cases of wound in fection, 1 case of case of osteomyelitis- and, 5 case of delayed unlon.
