Abstract

The treatment of congenital dislocation of the hip in the majority of the case over three years of age is more satisfactorily accomplished by some form of open operation than by any method of closed reduction.
The aim of the orthopedic surgeon in treating congenital dislocation of the hip should be, to obtain an accurate anatomical reduction, to gain stability and an excellent range of motion and to maintain good relationship of the head and acetabulum as demonstrated by follow-up roentgenograms over a
long period.
The. Colonna capsular arthroplasty(Two-stage procedure) differs fundamentally from the various operations in that there is a central replacement of the capsule-covered head into its exact anatomical position and also gain the satisfactory functional result.
In 1965, Colonna concluded that, if cases are selected according to the rigid criteria, of the operation is performed properly, and if the postoperative regimen is carefully supervised, satisfactory results can be anticipated in 75 to 80 per cent of the cases with unilateral involement.
According to the indications and procedures of Colonna, we performed three cases of congenital dislocation of the hip with unilateral involvement from 5-{{ years of age and the follow-up study of two. years.
The three patients were gained the both anatomical and functional resoration in clinical and rcen tgenograms.
