Abstract
This is to present 13 cases of tibial condylar fracture which were treated at the Hanyang University hospital for 2 years from July 1572 to July 15?
The results of clinical study were obtained as follows:
1) The causes of injury were mostly traffic accident (706), falling(23%) and direct blow(7%).
2) There were 12 males and 1 female in the series. Age span was generally from 2030 years.
3) Among 13 cases- of the tibial condylar fractures, 8 being lateral, 3 bicondylar and 2 medial. also 4 being split type, 4 compression type and 5split-compression type.
4) As the associated soft tissue injuries, one of ruptured lateral collateral ligament was detected and one of torn medial meniscus was discovered.
5) Three cases here treated by means of closed reduction and 10 underwent open reduction.
6) In most cases, cast immobilization for about 6 weeks was done and then encouraged knee joint exercise.
7) The Clinical end results were devided to acceptable 10 (77%) and unacceptable were 3 (23%) respectively.
