Abstract

Author studied the fibrinolytic activity of systemic venous blood and pulmonary venous blood: in. pre-operative state and during operation, with 64 cases of pulmonary resection. In addition, author studied the, fibrinolytic activity in experimental dogs of lung edema with same method described above.
The results were as followings:
1. In pre-operative state, the pulmonary tuberculosis was the most significant in positive rate of fibrinolytic activity, indicating 33.3% of the positive rate, among the various pulmonary diseases.
2. The fibrinolytic activity of pulmonary venous blood during operation was significantly increased compared with that of systemic venous blood, which revealed no significant change from the data of pre-operative state.
3. It seemed that the extent of pulmonary tissue destruction was proportional to the accentuation of fibrinolytic activity.
4. In the cases of positive fibrinolytic activity in pre-operative state, the post-operative abnormal bleeding was significantly greater than pre-operative negative cases.
5. It appeared that the pre-operative administration of antiplasmin(?-ACA) had an effect on the seduction of post-operative bleeding.
6. In experimental dogs of lung edema, it seemed that the degree of fibrinolytic activity systemic venous blood and of pulmonary venous blood was proportional to the degree of lung edema.
7. Author conclude that, in pulmonary resection, the performance of pre-operative fibrinolytic activity test might be very helpful in prevention of post-operative abnormal bleeding..
