Abstract


Authors present a case of 29 years of Korean male with complete left mandibular osseous ankylosis due to extensive osseous fusion of left condyloid process, possibly originated from inflammation of mandibular head after otitis media.
Operation was done with success and made him able to open his mouth with the excision of abnormally. thickened left mandibular branch by 1.5cm beneath the zygomatic arch and in addition filled up the defect with resin ball(1.2cm in diameter) in order to avoid the recurrence.
