Abstract


The author studied on the distribution of V. patahaemolyticus for eel, trumpet shell, sea squirt, sea ear and sea cucumber at each market of the Ja gal cbi, the Bu pyeong dung and the Dae shin dong from May to October in 1974. The author studied for isolated strains to bacteriological identification and the Kana¡©gawa phenomenon(hemolytic activity) on the modified Wagatsuma blood agar plates.
The results were obtained as follows:
1. Among 930 specimens tested of eel, trumpet shell, sea squirt, sea ear and sea cucumber isolated 165 cases(17. 82%) of V. parahaemolyticus.
2. Among 80 strains isolated V. parahaemolyticus, positive were in 64 cases(80%), negative were in 16 cases(20%) in the Kanakawa phenomenon.
3. The results of the each market isolated were 63 cases(21. 66%) at the market of Dae shin dung, 53 cases(17.66 0) at the market of Bu pyeong dong and 42 cases(14.00%) at the market of Ja gal chi in the decreasing order.
4. The results of the monthly isolated were 37 cases(24.67%) in August, 30 cases(20. 00%) in September, 29 cases(19. 33%) in July, 24 cases(16. 00%) in October, 23 cases(15. 33%) in June and 22 cases (12. 00%) in May in the decreasing order.
