Abstract
We experienced a patient, 15 months aged female baby of acquired methemoglobinemia due to D.D.S. intoxication. She was admitted to ped. ward, National Medical Center on August 8, 1970, because of semicomatous state and generalized cyanosis. This cyanosis proved to be due to abnormal high level of methemoglobin (34.6%) on pheripheral blood which was measured by Bray¢¥s clinical laboratory methods. She improved slowly after intravenous methylene blue and ascorbic acid and supportive therapy, and was discharged with condition on 10th hospital day.
Review of the literature was made and a case of methemoglobinemia was presented.
