Abstract
A case of paralytic ileus due to potassium deficit was presented. Potassium deficit have become re-
cognized as a clinical importance in surgical patient especially postoperative state.
It is generally agreed that . potassium has a definite effect upon conduction and contractibility of cardiac,
striated, and viceral smooth musc¢¥_es and produce typical E.K.G. findings and few symptoms such as extreme weakness, motor and sensory disturbances, muscular weakness and paralytic ileus. So It¢¥s pro-
mpt recognition and treatment by the surgeon are of paramount importance to the successful completion of many surgical procedures.
