Abstract

This report is a clinical review of experience with 2 cases of multiple polyposis of the entire colon
and rectum.
It was treated with total colectomy without preservation of rectal segment and ileostomy. The entire
colon, rectum and anus was resected, and the ileum was anastomosed to the anal verge. Preoperative
preparation was performed with neomycin and mechanical cleansing. Postoperative course was uneventful
in one patient.
But in the other, residual abscess was developed in the pelvis on the 10th postoperative day.
The abscess was controlled with drainage operation under the local anesthesia and antibiotics.
The frequency of postoperative diarrhea was gradually decreased day by day.
Four weeks after operation all patients were passed 5 or 8 times of wartery stool daily.
The one cases was healthy for one year period, but the other could not have follow up study because
