Abstract
Two cases of leiomyosarcoma of small intestine were observed at the Department of Surgery, Chonnam
University Hospital.
One cases was observed in a 50 year old male with chief complaints of generalized abdominal pain
and distention with fever elevation for two days. The emergency laparotomy was performed under the
diagnosis of acute panperitonitis due to peptic ulcer perforation.
Another case was observed in a 32 year old female with chief complaints of upper abdominal diste
ntion with melena. Preoperative diagnosis of the acute intestinal bleeding was male by the clinical
history and physical signs.
In both cases, wide dissection of the affected intestinal loop including mesenteric lymphnodes was
preformed.
Final diagnosis in both were leiomyosarcoma of small intestine, the upper jejunum and the distal
ileum respectively.
