Abstract
Eight patients have undergone endocrine ablative treatment for metastatic mammary carcinoma at Seoul National University Hospital for recent 2 years with demonstrating an objective response in five patients.
Among eight patients,, five had undergone castration and three had undergone adrenalectomy.
Two death occurred among the patients who had undergone castration alone, one was 32 year. . Old virgin who died 7 month later and the other was 29 year old pregnant woman who died month later.
The response for the endocrine ablative treatment was remarkably related to free interval were able to survive without any evidence of progression of the disease.
Adrenalectomy was successful in a patient with metastasis limited to the pleura and lung, who had an interval free of apparent disease (free interval), lasting 30 month, between radical mastectomy and tumor recurrence, with combined use of 5-Fluorouracil.
