Abstract
A case of small intestinal volvulus due to a fecalith was experienced in the departmentof general surgery, Pusan Armed Forces General Hospital.
The fecalith was found in the distal ileum and its characteristics were grossly dark greenish in color, firm in consistency, and. about a hen egg sized.
A part of small intestine, about 20cm of distal -ileum, was twisted to clock-wise direction due to the fecalith. The twisted ileal loop was returned to normal as soon after reduced the involved loop and removed, the fecalith, by enterotomy ud other mucosal changes were not, presented in the affected intestine.
Also a brief review of literatures is made.
