Abstract
Reticulum cell sarcoma of the stomach is very rare disease. Cruvelhier reported for the first time in 1829 and the incidence is only 0.3-0.5% of all gastric malignancies.
This tumor which responded well to irradiation after surgical removal showed better survival than- other gastric malignancies.
We experienced a case of reticulum cell sarcoma of the stomach. This case received subtotal gastrectomy with gastrojejunostomy and irradiation. A child fist sized, irregular surfaced, hard mass in the antruin and lesser curvature side of the stomach with metastasis to regional 1ymphnode were revealed at time of operation. The patient has. been carried on normal life up to this day without evidence of tumor recurrence which was confirmed by Upper Gastrointestinal Series.
The general concept of reticulum cell sarcoma of the stomach with brief review of the literatures is discussed here.
