Abstract
One of the earlist medical records of a Derinoid Cysts of the ovary was made by Johannes Scultetus in 1695. Lebert is credited with first applying the term "Dermo d Cyst" to all lined by a structure resembling akin.
Witzberger and Agerty reviewed the world literature in 1937 and found a total of 186 cases of Dermoid Cyst in children.
It has been known a clinically rare disease in children. A case described by authors was a 9 year old girl with chief complaints of Rt. abdominal colicky pain and vomiting, and a large palpable mass in the Rt. Lower quadrant of the abdomen.
After Diagnostic measures including plain flims of abdomen, I.V.P. exploratory laparotomy was done under the impression of the Dermoid Cyst of ovary.
It was confirmed as Dermoid Cyst of Lt.ovary in children pathologically. A brief review of literatures was made.
