Abstract


A case of limy bile found incidentally on the UGI series, was confirmed by the intravenous cholecystocholangiogaraphy and treated by surgical intervention. ¢¥
The limy bile is also called calcium soap in the gallbladder, calcium carbonate gallstone,. calcium carbonate paste, lime¢¥ water bile lime¢¥ stone gallbladder or milk of calcium gallbladder.
The patient, 23 year old female, had ¡Æintermittent epigastric discomfort and back pain for 3 years.
About 20 days prior to admission there was a sudden onset of colicky pain in the ,RUQ of the abdomen with nausea and vomiting. Radiating pain to the right shoulder was also noted. On the UGI series there was noted a semilunar hazy shadow in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen which was corresponding to the gallbladder shadow.
The literatures, especially Japanese litertures have been reviewed in view of its rarity.
