Abstract


The collected 1,256 cases of acute appendicitis during the past 12.8 years (1962. 1. ¢¥ L-4974. 8. 31) are analyzed on the statistical method and the results are as follows:
1. The age distribution was 4 months to 80 years and the most frequent incidence was in the 2nd and 3rd decades:
2.Male to female ratio was 1:1.5.
3. It occured most frequently in the summer season.
4. Most of the patients came to the hospital within 3 days from the onset.
5. The average hospital days in the unruptured cases were 8 days from the onset. 6. The reptured cases were 12% of all the patients.
7. The mean W. B. C. count were 12, 000 per cubic millimeter o f blood.
8. The complications occurred mainly in the ruptured.cases(84%, of all complications) and they were localized peritonitis, wound infection and generalized peritonitis.
