Abstract

Myasthenia gravis is a disease characterized by weakness and abnormal fatigability, most frequently affects the facial, oculomotor, laryngeal, pharyngeal and respiratory muscles, and partial recovery with rest and after the administration of anticholinestrase drugs. Despite of our lacks of knowledge concerning the pathophysiology of myasthenia gravis, it is clear that thymectomy favorably alters the course of the disease in many-cases. Operation is recomme-nded for patients who have severe generalized myasthenia which does not respond satisfacto-rily to medical therapy.
We report a case of myasthenia gravis surgically managed and reviewed literatures briefly.
