Abstract
In general, there is a synthetic method of salicylaldehyde from phenol and chloroform in the presence of alkali.
Instead of this it was synthesized to salicylaldehyde from phenol and chloralhydrate in the presence of alkali. In this study, it has been obtained the yields by these methods and was found to be predominating result obtained from the latter method.
