Abstract


Acete toxic liver, fatty liver and amyloidosis were induced in rabbits respectively, by injection of carbon tetrachloride and casein. The serum protein fraction was examined and the change of the injected glucose^(-14)C in peripheral blood and hepatic tissue was measured, with the following result.
1. The electrophoretic pattern of serum protein in the group of acute toxic liver was similar to that of control group. But, after three hours, the injected glucose^(-14)C in the acute toxic liver stayed longer in the hepatic tissue than in the control group.
2. In fatty liver group, the amount of total serum proteun was decreased due to a marked decrement of albumin and a little increment of gamma-globulin, the disappearance rate of glucose^(-14)C from peripheral blood was delayed, and the remaining time of glucose^(-14)C in hepatic tissue was considerable prolonged.
3. In amyloidosis group, the change of glucose^(-14)C in blood and hepatic tissue was similar to that of fatty liver group, but histological findings were different each other the former was intracellular deposition of fat droplets, where as the batter was intercelluar deposition of amyloid.
