Abstract
A case of typical ulcerative colitis which is very rare in Korea is presented its this report. The patient was 42 years old woman who was admitted with the chief complaints of bloody diarrhea and lower abdominal pain. The routine laboratory examinations showed occult blood in stool and urobilinogen in urine. The roentgenological examination of the colon revealed spasm of left half of transverse colon and descending colon with indistinct haustral markings. Medical treatment with prednisolone, antibiotics and sedatives was done, and she was discharged with slight improvement on the 22nd hospital day.
