Abstract
THE ABDOMINAL tumors in childhood are, in the order of f regeuncy, Wilms, tumor, nouroblastoma, and teratoma of which the last is known to be the rarest of the all.
The autl er experienced two cases of teratoma, in the period of from November 1958 to September 1930, at the Medical School Hospital, Chonna m University.
Case II, a boy of 6 months¢¥ old, was preoperatively diagnosed as such by the help of radiology. A retroperitoncal, anencephalic monster was successfully removed and uneventful recovery followed. Case 2 was a girl of 11 years of age, had a giant ovarian teratoma which was also satisfactorily treated by the surgical intervention relieving the presenting symptoms of abdominal distension and pain.
