Abstract


It is apparent that endocrine glands give some influences to allergic changes. Investigations on the close reationship between the production of antibody and hormone have become as an important subject to clarify the mechanism of allergic reaction.
Thyroid gland plays an important role in the body metabolism. Thyroidectomy results the retention of water and protein in the tissue, atrophy of thymus, spleen and lymph node, the dimunition of phagocytic activity and gastrointestinal secretion. The administration of thyroid hormone stimulates the gastro-intestinal
secretion and reduces the tissue fluid and protein.
It has not been settled on the influences of thyroid upon allergic changes. Some investigators reported the dimunition of aggravation of anaphylactic shock in the thyroidectomized or the thyroid hormone administrating animals, while, others described remarkable changes or dimunit-
ion of anaphylactic shock in the thyroidectoinize4 or the. thyroid hormone administrating animals

Experimental Material and Method
Normal young rabbits weighing around 800 grams were used for this experiment, he rabbits were divided into the sensitized and nonsensitized and subdivided further into six groups in each, which consists of normal, the thyroidcetomized, the thyroxin administrated which thyroxin was given after thyroidectomy,
the transplanted which transplantation of thyroid was performed after thyroidectomy, the thyroxin administrated which thyroxin was given without thyroidectomy and the transplanted which transplantation of thyroid was performed without thyroidectomy.
Each of the sensitized rabbits was injected I cc of normal horse serum per kilogram of body weight into the subcutaneous tissue daily for 4 days for sensitizing and O.lcc of normal horse serum per kilogram of body weight was given locally into the duodenal wall.
Each of the unsensitized rabbits was given O.lcc of normal horse serum per kilogram of body weight into duodenal wall without sensitization.
