Abstract
Clinical Observation on 405 Cases of the Tuberculous Spine who were admitted in Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Catholic Medical College, during the period of September 1955 through ´August 1964, and Follow Up. Investigation on 87 Cases by written communication were performed.
1) 53.5% of the cases were under 10 years of age. Male: Female = 1.4:1
2) Location: Thoraic 41.2%, Lumber 39.2%, and Cervicall and Lumbosacral, 1.5% in each.
3) Incision and Curettage with Primary Closure were performed for Abscess (22.7%) and Sinus(19.3 % ), and Posterior Spinal Fusion in 400 cases.
4) Hospital Days were less than 3 weeks in 71.5% of the cases.
5) Result revealed Excellent and Good in 77% totally.
