Abstract


The author were conducted an anatomical analysis on the branching, passing and development of facial artery from 170 cases (90 of male and 80 of female) of Korean fetuses aged 9 and 10 fetal month. The following conclusions were obtained:
1. The angulation formed from the originated part of facial artery upon fetal faces and the mandibular basal line is the higher rate to show from 60 degree to 90 degree.
2. In many cases, the positional relationships between the facial origin of facial artery and antero-inferior angulation of masseter muscle coincide with antero-inferior angulation of masseter muscle.
3. In the vicinity of the mandibular basal line, the positional relationships between the facial artery and vein run superiorly paralleling with together and again separate from the original part.
4. The branch of facial artery upon masseter muscle hold the higher rate which is originated from the central portion of the mandibular basal line and the inferior border of buccinator muscle.
5. The submental branch of facial artery upon mental portion originate from below one third between the mandibular basal line and inferior border of buccinator muscle.
6. The originated portion of facial artery upon buccinator muscle show to separate directly from the facial artery.
7. The pathway of inferior labial artery runs anteriorly and superiorly, again in many cases, it runs anteriorly.
8. The development of superior labial artery hold the higher rate to separate 2 or 3 branches toward the nasal bases.
9. The anastomosis of superior labial artery and inferior labial artery of right and left portion hold the higher rate to anastomose together.
10. The end fore of facial artery on the dorsum nose hold the higher rate to stop branch of dorsum nose and the development of it´s branch is the secondary grade.
