Abstract


The prime objectives of this experimental study is to delineate the pulpal responses to the abutment preparations.
In this study, two adult dogs of animal were prepared at the various methods of speeds such as low and high speeds of instruments.
The obtained histo-pathological findings were as follows;
1) When the teeth was prepared at the low speed instruments with even water sprays, the pulpal reactions showed mild changes, but severe destructive changes of dental pulp tissues in high speed instruments
2) The vacuolization and irregular arrangements of odontoblast layer was mild affected in the` teeth of low speed instruments without water sprays and high speed instruments with even water sprays, but severely affected in the high speed instruments without water sprays.
3) The alterations of Weil´s zone, pulpodentinal membrane, and predentin was present in all experimental teeth exempt for the low speed instruments with water sprays, and severe changes observed in the high speed instruments without water sprays.
4) Capillary hyperemia and infiltrations of inflammatory cells were found in all experimental teeth.
5) Hemorrhage was occurred in high speed levels of instrument with or without copious amounts of water sprays. Capillary congestions and small bleedings of odontoblast layer was occurred in the high speed levels of instruments without water sprays.
6) Mild edematous changes was present in all experimental teeth exempt for in low speed levels of heat reductions (water sprays), but highly severe changes in the teeth of high speed levels without copious amounts of waters.
