Abstract


In this experiment the author intended to separate some bromides of Diels-Alder adduct by radio thin layer chromatography.
The Rf values and its melting point of the compounds are as below.

4, 5-cis-dibromo-endo-anhydride 202-205℃ B 0.66
4, 5- trans-dibromo-endo-acid 163℃ B 0.7
4-bromo-endo-lactonic-acid 158-160℃ A 0.47
7-bromo-exo-lactonic-acid 212-214℃ A 0.32
7-bromo-exo-lactonic-acid 212-214℃B 0.59
The product obtained by the bromination of the dndo anhydride in NaHCO_3 alkaline solution exhibited three peakes in the radio thin layer chromatogram which the Rf values 0.46, 0.75 and 0.87 respectively. One of the three isomer formed in this reaction is 4-bromo-lactonic acid at Rf 0.46 but the other two isomers were not yet identified.
Developing solvent A is pyridine:propanol:H_2O=8:1:1
B is methanol
