Abstract

The common cold is an acute inflammatory disease of the upper respiratory tract, which is characterized by respiratory symptoms such as sneezing, sore throat and nasal discharge, and constitutional symptoms including headache, malaise and fever.
Acute and chronic glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, acute and chronic pyelonephritis, are all renal diseases affected by the upper respiratory infection. Description has also been made regarding the etiology of these renal diseases, exacer-bation during the progress by primary focus and a problem of tonsillectomy.
The upper respiratory infection is most common among the preceding diseases of acute glomerulonephritis and pyelonephritis, and it is known that the common cold has a tendency to exacerbate chronic renal diseases.
As mentioned above, we know that the common cold is closely correlated to renal diseases.
