Abstract

The function of the anticancer agents is to destroy malignant cells or to suppress their growth and proliferation. They are generally applied when the neoplasm is generally disseminated and surgical procedures and radiation therapy are no longer effective. The duration of remission varies as the type of cancer, personal sensitivity and the degree of involvement.
Recently, many of the new anticancer drugs have been developed and they are clinically used. Authors, here, mentioned newly developed anticancer agents such as L-asparaginase, PC-B-45 and Bleomycin. The importance of multiple combined therapy and massive intermittent therapy, among the methods of administration of these anticancer drugs, are also emphasized.
