Abstract

Bacteriological studies, including sensitivity tests, of 239 strains of pathogens out of 455 strains of organisms isolated from 1232 clinical culture materials during past one year period, from Nov. 1968 to Oct. 1969, at department of clinical pathology, Han-Il Hospital, were carried out.
1) There was no distinct differences in monthly incidence of positive culture for pathogenic organisms including Shigellae and Salmonellae. -
2) To sum up the result of .sensitivitytests, S. typhi was relatively sensitive to the used antibiotics, markedly to chloramphenicol, tetracyclin and ampicillin, and moderately to penicillin, streptomycin, and kanamycin, while moderately resistant* to erythromycin.
Shigellae was prominently sensitive to ampicllin, relatively sensitive to streptomycin and kanamycin, and resistant to other used antibiotics.
E. coli, except for isolated strains from rectal swab, was relatively sensitive to streptomycin, kanamycin, and resistant to others.
Coagulase positive staphylococci was sensitive to erythromycin, chloramphenicol, ampicillin in order, and penicillin resistant strains seemed to be increased than the reports of many other investigators.
A stroptococci was sensitive to penicillin, ampicillin and chloramphenicol, and resistant to others.
Pneumococci was highly sensitive to penicillin, ampicillin and erythromycin, and relatively sensitive to others.
Pseudomonas aeruginosa was relatively sensitive to chloramphenicol and streptomycin, and resistant to others.
Aerobacter aerogenes was moderately resistant to all the used antibiotics.
