Abstract


PPAR is one of the significant drug targets and activation of PPAR by several thiazolidinedione derivatives is well established. Herein bioisosteric replacement of thiazolidinedione to urea was carried out. Non-thiazolidinedione derivatives, [4-(2-carbazol-9-ylethoxy)phenyl]ureas (5,6) were designed and synthesized to obtain novel PPAR activators.
