Abstract

Invasive fungal sinusitis is one of the important causes of painful ophthalmoplegia especially in patients with diabetes mellitus or other immunocompromised conditions. Even with proper treatment, it can result in diverse complications such as meningitis, abscess formation, cavernous sinus thrombophlebitis, and cerebral infarction and hemorrhage. Among them, the clinical course and mechanism of intracranial hemorrhage have not been well understood. In this study, we reported two patients with invasive fungal sinusitis having intracranial hemorrhage and discuss the mechanism and clinical implication.
